The basic time format used is always hours, minutes, seconds so we can say from following that option a) is correct:- HH:MM: SS which comes out to be 00:02:00 in case of time stamping after 2 minutes.

Although we can differentiate in the date formats time formats are very basic and have very fewer customization so as default we follow the above format.

In case of scientific researchers or where accuracy is required then the same format can be extended to milliseconds and microseconds.
