1. If n (A) = 20, n(B)=28, n(AUB)=36, then n(A∩B)=?

We know that

n( A U B ) + n( A ∩ B ) = n( A ) + n( B )

Substituting the given values

36 + n( A ∩ B ) = 20 + 28

36 + n( A ∩ B ) = 48

n( A ∩ B ) = 48 - 36 = 12
