(1.)if the higgs boson which has mass formed by the excitation of higgs field ,

does it mean higgs field is interacting with itself ?

(2 .) does higgs field posses energy ?
if so why doesn't it interact with photons ?

Dont think that the entire mass of matter is contributed by the Higgs field. Its true that Higgs field contribute mass which accounts for about 1% of total mass known as intrinsic mass.Remaining mass comes from the potential energy of quarks in the gluon field.Mass and energy technically speaking are the same ,which lead Einstein to thinking that hot cup of coffee contains more mass compared to a cold cup of coffee. Now coming to your question ,its true that Higgs boson is self interacting particles. Excitation in Higgs field is a Higgs boson and an Higgs boson can interact with Higgs field just like a proton interacting with the electric field created by another proton.

We know that only particles having charge can interact with a electric field similarly particles having Weak hyper charge may only interact with Higgs field. Its the left handed electron which have the weak hypercharge and interact with Higgs field as electron travels its constanly changing its chirality hence rendering electron their mass and reducing its speed because of the resistance from Higgs field. Since photon does not have left and right handedness and doesnt contain weak hypercharge it doesnt interact with Higgs field hence conserving a max speed.
