Solution :

Given,

length of chord AB 16 cm,

OL perpendicular AB such that OL = 15 cm.

We know that perpendicular from the centre of a circle to a chord bisects the chord

AL = LB

= AB/2

= 16/2

= 8 cm

In ΔOAL,

OA² = OL² + AL² [By Pythagoras theorem]

OA² = (15)² + (8)²

OA² = 289

OA = 17 cm [ OA ≠ -17, as length can't be negative ]

=> option c is correct option
