=>2x+y=22 - (2)
From 1 we get x=20-2y (put in eq 2)
=2(20-2y)+y=22
=40-4y+y=22
=-3y=-18
=y=-18/-3
=y=6
But ,x=20-2y
So, substituting the value of y we get,
x=20-2(6)
x=8
