Given :- If you cut the a4 sheet in strips of 3mm width along sides then find the approximate perimeter of the resulting hollow rectangle assuming a4 sheet measures 29.7cm ×21cm ?

Solution :-

we have,

→ width of strip = 3mm = (3/10) cm = 0.3 cm.

so,

→ Length of hollow rectangle = 29.7 - 2 * 0.3 = 29.7 - 0.6 = 29.1 cm .

and,

→ Breadth of hollow rectangle = 21 - 2 * 0.3 = 21 - 0.6 = 20.4 cm .

then,

→ Perimeter of resulting hollow rectangle = 2(L + B) = 2(29.1 + 20.4) = 2 * 49.5 = 99 cm (Ans.)
