The plants, animals and water bodies were well cared for 50 years ago. I was 18 years old then.
There were many more trees then. Life was green, animals flourished.
My family had a beach house by a river. Across the river were sand dunes you could climb and soon be staring at the Pacific Ocean. Houses now dwarf these same sand dunes.Fishermen went out in the morning and brought back boats full of fish. You could buy smoke salmon hours after the salmon was caught.
You could drive for miles and never see a house or a car. Forrest's hung over the highways so you had to drive under them.
I swam in a river without a thought of pollution.
Vegetation was everywhere. The ocean seemed pure not the garbage dump it's become now.
Los Angeles was beautiful once. Air pollution was never discussed.
My grandmother has a large backyard full of grapes and the most beautiful flowers I've ever seen.
I'll die with a head full of memories of our beautiful Earth. If only younger people could see the Earth I saw 50 years ago.
But right now it is all quite opposite.
