In a bundle of 154 shirts, number of white shirts is 3 less than the number of red shirts, but 5 more than the green shirts. Then how many red shirts are there?

Medium

Solution

Let the number of white shirts be x

redshirts=x+3

green shirts=x−5

Given,

Total shirts=x+x+3+x−5=154

⟹3x−2=154

x=52

redshirts=55
