Effect of very small pores and diffusion rate:

Diffusion is the process, where the particles move from the high concentration region to the low concentration region through the semi permeable membrane till the concentration of the two regions become same or the concentration equalizes.

So if the size of the pore is small then the rate of the diffusion will be very slow as the molecules will move from high concentration to low concentration in very slow rate.

Effect of very large pores and diffusion rate:

If the size of the pore is very large then the diffusion rate will be very high as the molecule move from the high concentration region to low concentration region in very high rate to balance the concentration of the two regions.
