Since A,B and C are the midpoints of sides of the triangle DEF,
The area of triangle DEF is 4 times the area of triangle formed by the points A, B and C.

Given that area of ΔDEF = 14.4 cm²
area of ΔABC = (1/4)× ar(DEF)
                     = (1/4)×14.4
                     = 3.6 cm²
