Answer:

c) -10

Step-by-step explanation:

let x - number of questions answered corectly

y - number of unanswered questions

z - number of questions answered wrong

we know that,

x + y + z = 50

correct eqn fr validation is -----> (3 * x) + (-1 * z) + (0 * y)

simplification we will get -----> 3x - z = ? (This is the answer needed to be find)

incorrect eqn fr validation due to glitch ------> (4 * x) + (0 * z) + (1 * y) = 40

4x + y = 40

y = 40 - 4x

substitute y = 40 - 4x in x + y + z = 50

x + 40 - 4x + z = 50

-3x + z = 10

multiply by -1 on both sides:

3x - z = -10 (This is the answer eqn to be found)
