Area of ΔABE  is 25  cm²

Given :

  • Rectangle ABCD
  • Area = 50 cm²
  • Missing figure has been added

To Find :

  • Area of ΔABE

Solution:

Rectangle ABCD

Hence AB || CD  and E is a point on CD

so Height of ΔABE  =  BC = AD

Area of a rectangle = length * breadth

Area of Rectangle ABCD  = AB * BC = 50  cm²

Area of a rectangle = (1/2) * Base * height

Area of ΔABE = (1/2) * AB * BC

(BC = Height of triangle ABE)

= (1/2) 50

= 25  cm²

Area of ΔABE  is 25  cm²
