opposite sides in a parallelogram are equal

hence, 5x-1 = 3x+5

2x = 6

x = 3

AB = DC (Opposite Sides of parallelogram)

3x + 5 = 5x - 1

5x - 3x = 5 + 1

2x = 6

x = 6/2 = 3
