1. The river Mahanadi  originates from there (a) Sihawa hill range

2. Bailadila lies in the southern part of the Chhattisgarh Range

Explanation:

  • Throughout eastern central India, the Mahanadi is a big river. This stream has an area of approximately 141,600 sq km and is known for the Hirakud Dam (858 kilometers). The river is throughout the states of Chhattisgarh and Odisha. Mahanadi streams around the city of Odisha.
  • As with many other rivers of the Indian season, the Mahanadi is also a combination of numerous mountain rivers. Its farthest headwater lies about 6 kilometers from Pharsiya, 442 meters southern of Sihawa in Chhattisgarh district, approximately 11 kilometers from the village. The hills are a stretch of the Eastern Ghats, and they are the source of many other rivers that join the Mahanadi.
  • Bailadila Range is a mountain range that is about 200 kilometers west of Eastern Ghats in the Deccan plateau. It is called ' Bailadila, ' because it looks like an ox's hump. It is located in the south of Chhattisgarh, India, near Kirandul.
  • Formerly the Bailadila slopes were thickly wooded, but the range has been a mining area producing very high grade iron ore and the mineral extraction has left many areas of the mountains scarred
