Answer:

70

Step-by-step explanation:

Number of students passed in English = 50

ie P(A) = 50

Number of students passed in Mathematics = 60

ie. P(B) = 60

Number of students passed in both the English and Mathematics = 40

ie. P(A n B) = 40

Therefore number of students passed atleast in one of the subjects = 50 + 60 - 40 = 70

ie. P(A) + P(B) - P(A n B) = P(A u B)

=>> 50 + 60 - 40 = 70
