Yes, 7,10,13,16,19… is an AP . 7 is the first term and 3 is the common difference

Given:

  • 7,10,13,16,19 , ...

To Find:

  • Is this an AP?
  • First term
  • Common difference

Arithmetic sequence

  • Sequence of terms in which difference between one term and the next is a constant.
  • This is also called Arithmetic Progression AP
  • Arithmetic sequence can be represented in the form :
  • a, a + d  , a + 2d , …………………………, a + (n-1)d
  • a = First term
  • d = common difference = aₙ-aₙ₋₁
  • nth term =  aₙ =  a + (n-1)d
  • Sₙ = (n/2)(2a + (n - 1)d)

Step 1:

Check the difference between consecutive terms

10 - 7 = 3

13 - 10 = 3

16 - 13 = 3

19 - 16 = 3

As difference is same hence this is an AP

Common Difference is 3

Step 2:

Note that first term in   7,10,13,16,19, ... is 7

Step 3:

Note that common difference is 3

Yes, 7,10,13,16,19… is an AP . 7 is the first term and 3 is the common difference
