To be the possible sides a triangle , the sum of any two sides should exceed the third side .

(i) 1cm + 1cm > 1cm

=> 1 + 1 > 1

=> 2 > 1

∴ A triangle can be formed .

(ii) 2cm + 3cm > 4cm

=> 2 + 3 > 4

=> 5 > 4

∴ A triangle can be formed .

(iii) 7cm , 8cm , 15cm

=> 7 + 8 ≥ 15

=> 15 ≥ 15

∴ A triangle cannot be formed .

(iv) 3.4cm , 21.cm , 5.3 cm

=> 3.4 + 2.1 > 5.3

=> 5.5 > 5.3

∴ A triangle can be formed .

(v) 6cm , 7 cm , 14 cm

=> 6 + 7 ≯ 14

=> 13 ≯ 14

∴ A triangle cannot be formed .
