Coping with stress
Jack is a 16-year-old boy who was preparing for his Class 10 board exams. However, he had built up an immense amount of pressure on himself due to his friends and family constantly telling him to perform well. He was almost on the brink of breaking apart when he decided to talk to someone and let it all out. He went to his elder sister Julie. She was the only one who never pressurized him into doing anything.
When Jack told his sister about his troubles, Julie consoled him by telling him that he should not stress himself out so much because of one examination. Instead, he should take an adequate amount of rest to maintain his mental well-being. That way everything would seem easier, even his exams. She advised him to take breaks after 1 -2 hours of studying and listen to his preferred songs or have a walk around the house. She also told him to start meditating in the morning after waking up or before going to sleep to keep his mind clear so that he can retain everything that he is studying. She also told him to eat and sleep properly or else he would end up sick.
After talking to Julie, Jack felt a lot better. He started following the steps that his sister recommended and automatically he felt the pressure and his anxiety fading away. He felt relieved and was able to study properly. Finally, when he gave the exams and got the results, he was delighted to see that he had passed the examination with flying colours.
