1) Temperature of the water in the well that jack collected. If the temperature of the water which jack was colder than Jill's water.
2)While boiling, jack might have used the inner part of the flame while Jill might have used the outermost part of flame to boil the water. Inner most part of the flame is less hotter than the outermost part of the flame.
These factors are probably the reason to why jack's water took much time to boil than Jill's.
