1. Photosynthesis occurs when plants use light energy to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen. Leaves contain microscopic cellular organelles known as chloroplasts. ... In other words, these sugars are used by the plants as an energy source, which helps them to grow.
2. During photosynthesis, plants trap light energy with their leaves. Plants use the energy of the sun to change water and carbon dioxide into a sugar called glucose. Glucose is used by plants for energy and to make other substances like cellulose and starch. Cellulose is used in building cell walls.
3. The non-green plants are Fungi like mushrooms, yeast, moulds, Penicillium etc. Non-green plants cannot make their own food because they do not have chlorophyll in their leaves which breaks down carbon dioxide and water molecules thus do not produce glucose(food).
4. Plants and animals depend upon each other as mutual interdependence is must for their survival. Plants provide shelter for animals and they make oxygen for the animals to live. When animals die they decompose and become natural fertilizer plants. Plants depend on animals for nutrients, pollination and seed dispersal.
5. It's weak stem coils around the stem of host plants and spreads fast. The stem sends small haustoria into the stem of host. These haustoria make connections with the xylem and phloem of host to draw both water and food. Thus they get ready made food from the plant.
