1 -  {m}^{2}  = (1) {}^{2}  - m {}^{2}  \\ applying \: the \: identity \: a {}^{2}  -  {b}^{2}  = (a \times + b)(a - b) \\  = (1 + m)(1 - m)

Either

1+m = 0

=> m = -1

Or

1-m = 0

=> -m = -1

=> m = 1

Therefore values of m is 1 and -1
