Given,

Concentration of HCl, c₁ = 1 M

Concentration of HCl, c₂ = 2 M

As they are mixed in the volume ratio of 4:1, so the total amount is 5.

So, amount of c₁ = \frac{4}{5} × 1 M

and, amount of c₂ = \frac{1}{5} × 2 M

∴ The final molarity of HCl solution

= ( \frac{4}{5} × 1 M ) + ( \frac{1}{5} × 2 M )

= ( \frac{4}{5} + \frac{2}{5} ) M

= 1.2 M
