Conflict Resolution

Explanation:

The methods and processes involved to resolve a conflict peacefully are called conflict resolution techniques.

According to Thomas-Kilmann model there are five conflict resolution strategies: Avoiding, accommodating, Compromising, competing and collaborating. People use one or more than one of these techniques to resolve conflicts.

In the above mentioned scenario accommodating and compromising techniques would be more useful as both parties are equally powerful.

If using accommodation technique the parties at conflict try to satisfy other persons demands while in compromise they try to find a solution that will satisfy the demands of the other party to some extent.

Collaboration can also be used to end the standoff as it involves finding a solution that will satisfy the demands of all the parties involved.
