1 mango and 2 oranges are 22 rupees. If 2 mangoes and 3 oranges cost 36 rupees, what is the price of a mango?

Let cost of each mango be X rupees

cost of each orange be y rupees

then from given information

X+2y=22-------(1)

2x+3y=36------(2)

solve (1) and (2)

from (1). X=22-2y---(3)

substitute X value in (2)

2(22-2y)+3y=36

44-4y+3y=36

44-36=y

y=8

substitute y value in (3)

X=22-2(8)=22-16=6

therefore price of a mango is 6rupees
