[1] Many people have argued that nothing could justify the president’s use of the atomic bomb because it killed so many innocent civilians. [2] Truman himself refused to drop a third atomic bomb on Japan because he was horrified by the death and devastation it had caused. [3] However, he never regretted his decision to use it in the first place. [4] Using the bomb brought an immediate end to a war that might have gone on for months or even years longer. Which sentence states a reason?

Truman's final decision to use atomic bomb on Japan brought an end to a war that might have gone on for months or even years longer. It finally brought World War II to an end and it did not cause any other war of that magnanimity to arise till date in this world.

Explanation:

Truman very well knew it would cause huge American causalities but it was the only way to speedily end the war.

Otherwise, Japan would not have surrendered and the world war would have continued, causing huge loss of life and wealth, destruction of mankind and civilization. With the end of World War II, peace prevailed everywhere.

However, the use of atomic bombs boomeranged with many countries starting to produce nuclear weapons.
