there is a main differences between them but the process is same

these cycles occur when the ovum or egg not fertilise .and the ovum is destroyed. and the inner lining of uterus with blood vessels came out and these process is called as menstrual cycle.

menstrual cycle occur in primates (human,monkey,apes ) and the oestrus cycle occur in non primates (cow,dog,cat etc
