Member of organization should receive orders from b) one superior.

One Head and One Plan:

Every group in an organization should be following a single plan under a single lead in order to avoid confusion and prevent disputes.

Principles of management:

  • Henri Fayol laid 14 priciples for the foundation for a successful management. These princliples are included in his book "General and Industrial Management (1916)"
  • His fourth principle explains "Unity of Command" which states that every subordinate should recieve orders from only a single superior. If more than one superior is involved then it would create conflict and confusion.
  • He described the key roles for the best management is to plan, organise, command, coordinate and control.
