Answer:

1. Being sad men and women collected around Birla house.

2. The funeral being over, the narrator returned to Delhi.

3. The ashes were immersed in the Ganges in the evening.

4. The boy wrote the answer in a incorrect way.

Explanation:

  • Using participle joins two sentence and turns into simple. The verb was has been turned into participle and then joined with another sentence. Thus it's done.
  • The verb has been turned into participle, and placed after the subject. It's nominative absolute. It helps to join two sentences turning into simple.
  • Adverbial phrase is acts like an adverb. The second sentence of each of last two questions has been turned into adverbial phrases.
