Malaysia has always believed that development should not be at the cost of natural heritage, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said here.
“The Government has always ensured that green lungs in the Klang Valley and in other cities are never affected by development.

“We have ensured that parks and gardens are made available in all towns and residential areas,” he said when launching the “Malaysia International Landscape and Garden Festival” (Laman 2004) at Taman Tasik Perdana here yesterday.

Najib said the Government had vigorously protected the forests and jungles and had urged all Malaysians to embrace nature and to place importance on the aesthetic aspects of their homes, gardens and surroundings. He said Laman 2004 was a golden opportunity for Malaysians to sample the wide variety of designs available for their landscaping projects.
