1 ml of .1 MHCl is added into 99 ml of water. Assume volumes are additive, what is pH of resulting solution.

You need to find the molarity now after diluting , Its easy because moles of HCl remain the same , so equate them ,


1*1=100*M


M= new molar conc.


On solving and taking -log[H] , we get 2 while earlier it was 0


Hence change should be 2
