The correct answer is option C i.e, \frac{1}{6}

Given,

1 mole of 50% pure CaC2 on hydrolysis followed by passing through a red hot copper tube.

To Find,

Moles of Benzene formed

Solution,

Reaction:

CaC_{2} +2H_{2} O = CH≡CH +Ca(OH)_{2}

Also, since it is passed through a red hot copper tube,

reaction,

3CH≡CH→C_{6} H_{6}

This means,

3 moles  C_{2} H_{2} gives 1 mole of benzene

hence, 0.5 moles of C_{2} H_{2} gives \frac{1}{6} moles of benzene.
