1 mole of KClO₃ is thermally decomposed and excess of aluminium is burnt in the gaseous product. How many moles of Al2O₃ are formed?

The reaction for thermal decomposition of KClO  ₃ is-

KClO₃ →KCl+3/2  O₂

and for reaction with Al:

2Al+  3/2 O₂→Al2 O₃

∴ 1 mole of KClO₃  will produce 1 mole of Al₂ O₃.
