Answer: Mona Falls short of breath because when she climbs a flight of stairs, Her supply of oxygen gets used up and her Lungs would be filled with carbon dioxide and we need oxygen to do any activity. So, she falls short of breath. After, Mona inhales more oxygen and removes carbon dioxide from her lungs her body will have the energy (which is supplied after she inhales oxygen) to climb more stairs.
