1. Most of the drug delivery systems (DDS) are in colloidal state and maybe have a surface<br />charge (positive, negative, or nutral). Much research has been done in different research<br />centers all around the world, researchers tried to manupulate surface charge of drug carrier by<br />modification of surface chemistry or other methods, with regard to introducing positive or<br />negative charge to the surface of DDS. But there is a question: is there any relation between<br />surface charge and application of DDS? ​

Stabiliy/ Aggregation of the particles: Particles with near neutral zeta potential or mildly charged surfaces tend to aggregate faster, which can be detrimental in-vivo from the point of recognization byt he RES. Stronger the charge, better is the colloidal stability of the particles and hence a longer shelf life as well.
