Percentage of increase in salaries of Priya and her friends = 10 % of the overall amount, as per the problem.

Hence, on Percentage calculation we get:

10 % of Rs 15,000

= 10/100 of Rs. 15,000

= 10/100 X Rs. 15,000

= Rs 1500. (Amount increased in salary).

So, the final salary would be:

earlier salary added to increased amount

i.e. Rs. 15,000 + Rs. 1500

= Rs. 16,500 only.

Ans. Priya would now get a salary of Rs. 16,500 every month.
