  • FUNDAMENTAL LAW THAT EVERY EQUATION MUST FULFILL:
  1. It should represent true chemical change.
  2. It should be balanced.

for example:

2H2S + SO2 ------ 2H2O + 3S

3. It should be molecular.

  • Chemical equation : It can be defined as a brief representation of a chemical change in terms of symbols and formulae of substances involved in it.

  • Balancing of chemical equation :
  1. It means making an each element on the left hand side equal to number of atoms on the right hand side.
  2. It is based on law of conservation of mass.
  3. There are 3 methods of balancing an equation.
  • Hit / trial method
  • partial equation method
  • oxidation / reduction method.....

  • Chemical equation must be balanced beacause THE LAW OF CONSERVATION OF MATTER must be hold good during a chemical equation. Balancing of equation is necessary because are neither created nor destroyed during a chemical equation.

hope it may help u!!!!!!!
