Human beings.

•Adrenaline-Adrenal gland- prepares body for emergency situations
•Thyroid-thyroxin- protein carb and fat metabolism
•Growth hormone- pituitary- regulates growth
•Insulin-pancreas- blood sugar level
•Testosterone-testes -development of sexual characteristics

Plant

•Auxin-cell elongation
•Gibberelin-growth of stem
•cytokinins- cell division
• abscisic acid - inhibit growth
•ethylene-ripens fruit

Movement

•phototropism- plant towards sunlight
•geotropism-root to earth
•chemotropism- pollen tube towards ovary
•thigmotropism-response to touch
• hydrotropism- root towards water

1. Five hormones that are secreted by human beings are as follows :-

(i) Growth Hormone: Secreted by pituitary gland.
Function: It promotes the growth of long bones and muscles. Excess secretion of hormones leads to gigantism, insufficient secretion leads to dwarfism.

(ii) THYROXIN: Secreted by thyroid gland.
Function: It regulates carbohydrates, proteins and fat metabolism, accelerates energy production, stimulates absorption of glucose.

(iii) INSULIN: Secreted by pancreas.
Function: It controls the rate of oxidation of glucose. If insulin is not present blood glucose level will keep rising.

(iv) ADRENALINE: Secreted by adrenal gland.
Function: It is released in times of stress and emotional disturbance.

(v) TESTOSTERONE: Secreted by testis.
Function: Helps in development of secondary sexual characters, e.g., moustache, beard, etc.

---------------------------------------------------------

2. Five different hormones secreted by plants are as follows :-

(i) AUXIN: They are produced at the shoot tips and help in growth of stem.

(ii) GIBBERELLINS: Helps in vegetative growth.

(iii) CYTOKININ: Promotes cell division.

(iv) ABSCISIC ACID: Inhibits growth and induces wilting of leaves.

(v) ETHYLENE: Helps in ripening of fruit.

---------------------------------------------------------

3. Five different types of movements are as follows :-

(i) PHOTOTROPISM: Stem tip grows in the direction of light.

(ii) GEOTROPISM: Response towards the gravity.

(iii) CHEMOTROPISM: Response due to chemicals.

(iv) THIGMOTROPISM: Response to touch on tendrils and other climbing parts are positively thigmotrophic.

(v) NASTIC MOVEMENT: It is neither towards nor away from stimulus.
