The correct answers are -

1. An enzyme present in the small intestine is Proteolytic enzymes which help in breaking down and digestion.

2.The peristaltic movement refers to the contraction and relaxation of the food in the oesophagus. The food in the food pipe is forced down the track to the stomach. This movement is required to push down food in the stomach.

3. The role of acid in the stomach is to kill the microorganisms present in the food, acidification of food for pepsin's proper release and conversion of pepsinogen into pepsin.

4. The small intestine has tiny projections called villi. Villi improve the surface area for more effective absorption of food. Many blood vessels are present within these villi that further absorb the digested food and carry it to the bloodstream.
