Characteristics :

•Red soil is porous and has high percentage of iron oxide. It is loose and aerated..

•It is seen mainly in low rainfall areas.

•This soil is more sand and less clayey.

•It's porous and friable.

•It's rich in iron and small amt. of humus.

•It's poor in phosphorus, nitrogen and lime.

•Red soil is slightly acidic & it doesn't retain moisture.
