Answer:

  1. The first continent system is the seven continent system consisting of Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania/Australasia, North America, South America and Antarctica. The five continent system is applying Eurasia and The Americas together, all other continents remain the same.
  2. Name of the five oceans are the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Southern, and Arctic oceans (arranged in a descending order according to their size). So, the Pacific is the largest and the Arctic is the smallest of all oceans by surface.
  3. Composition of air. According to NASA, the gases in Earth's atmosphere include: Nitrogen — 78 percent. Oxygen — 21 percent. Argon — 0.93 percent.
  4. Troposphere, Stratosphere, Mesosphere, Thermosphere, Exosphere. We also find Ozone.
  5. The atmosphere contains the gases that surround the terrestrial and maritime biomes within the biosphere. In the atmosphere the main elements are hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and carbon. Oxygen is the most prominent element and allows for the organic life, such as humanity, to exist on the Earth.

J) Long answers*

  1. Famous for its the Sahara Desert and the Nile River. Europe has several peninsulas. South America is famous for its Andes Mountains and the Amazon River. North America is divide into regions like the mountains in the West, the Canadian Shield, the Great Plains, the Caribbean, and the eastern region.
  2. The air we breathe: The ocean produces over half of the world's oxygen and absorbs 50 times more carbon dioxide than our atmosphere. Climate regulation: Covering 70 percent of the Earth's surface, the ocean transports heat from the equator to the poles, regulating our climate and weather patterns. Still, we are not saving water.
  3. Many living things, including humans, need oxygen to breathe. The gases in the atmosphere also protect us from harmful solar rays, but not completely, which is why we often wear sunscreen. The gases trap heat, which the earth naturally produces. Without an atmosphere, the surface of the earth would be very, very cold.
  4. The two ways in which the human beings are disturbing the natural environment are : As pollution is increasing the people are using more resources and they are polluting the nature for there needs. Humans are cutting tress and plants for their own needs which leads to deforestation.
  5. Biosphere is important for living organisms because it is termed as the zone of life on earth. ... Biosphere is important for living organisms because it is termed as the zone of life on earth. And because it is the ecological system of earth.
  6. Earth is known as the 'blue planet' because of the wast oceans that cover two-thirds of its surface. When seen from space, our world looks like a pale blue dot.
  7. Antarctica is called the continent of science because it is inhabited primarily by research scientists. In Antarctica there are research stations which are the only human habitations on the continent. They are involved in a wide range of studies ranging from oceanographic research to astronomy.
  8. In the troposphere, the temperature generally decreases with altitude. The reason is that the troposphere's gases absorb very little of the incoming solar radiation. Instead, the ground absorbs this radiation and then heats the tropospheric air by conduction and convection.
