Answer:

(i) A thermocouple is an electrical device consisting of two dissimilar electrical conductors forming an electrical junction. A thermocouple produces a temperature-dependent voltage as a result of the thermoelectric effect, and this voltage can be interpreted to measure temperature.

(ii) In a photoelectric cell, optical energy is being transformed into electric energy because light photons are being absorbed and photoelectric current is being produced.

(iii) Photosynthesis, the process by which green plants and certain other organisms transform light energy into chemical energy. During photosynthesis in green plants, light energy is captured and used to convert water, carbon dioxide, and minerals into oxygen and energy-rich organic compounds.

(iv) A dynamo is a device that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. Figure 5 shows the structure of a simple dynamo. A coil made of conducting wire is positioned between the North and South poles of two permanent magnets.

(v) In a dry cell chemical energy is converted in to electrical energy.
