2) diplococci

streptococci

staphylococci

3)Phototrophs

Chemotrophs

Lithotrophs

Organotrophs

4) binary fission

5) Microorganisms sense and adapt to changes in their environment. It allows the bacterium to produce a dormant and highly resistant cell to preserve the cell's genetic material in times of extreme stress. ... Endospores can survive environmental assaults that would normally kill the bacterium.

(1) The three common shapes of bacteria are: coccus, bacillus and spiral.

(2) The technical terms are as follow:

• In pairs = Diplococci

• In long chains = Streptococci

• In clusters = Staphylococci

(3) Bacteria are heterotrophs as they do not have chlorophyll. Furthermore, bacteria can obtain there nutrition from the following modes of nutrition:

•Saprotrophic: Obtaining nutrition from decaying dead organisms.

• Parasitic: Obtaining nutrition from there body of the hosts.

(4) Bacteria reproduced through asexual means such as cell division and fission.

(5) Bacteria produces spores to overcome unfavorable condition such as drying up of vegetation. In such conditions, bacterial cell draw it's content into a spherical mass that gets surrounded by a thick and hard productive wall forming a space. Spores can tolerate extreme dryness and cannot be killed even at extreme temperature.
