1. Field fallow, crop rotation and mixed cropping are three natural methods of replenishing the nutrients of the soil.

2. The undesirable plants that grow along with the crops are called weeds.

3. Food grains which are to be stored for future use should be completely dried because of the following reasons.

a) Presence of moisture may be favourable for the growth of microorganisms. 

b) Presence of moisture and favourable temperature enhance germination of stored seeds. This should be controlled by removing the moisture completely.

OR

If freshly harvested grains are stored without drying, they may get spoilt or attacked by organisms, losing their germination capacity. Hence, before storing them, the grains are properly dried under the sun to reduce the moisture in them.
