  • The two materials that are lighter than the water are wood and Ice. The wood will not get dipped into the water due to its light weight that is why we use wood for making boats in order not to sink in the water. The Ice will not sink in the water. They both can float on the water.
  • Soluble substances" are those substances that get easily dissolved in a 'solvent'. Insoluble substances are substances which cannot be solved in a solvent. Explanation: The difference in solubility of various substances is due their polarity.
