Answer:

Step-by-step explanati

soln 1. let the whole number be x

a/q

9+3x=45

=> 3x=45-9

=>3x=36

=>x=36/3

therefeore x=12 ans

soln 2. let the no. be x

a/q

x+x/2=72

=> 2x+x/2=72

=>3x/2=72

=>3x=72x2

=>3x=144

=>x=144/3

therefore x=48 ans

soln 3. let the 2 consecutive natural numbers be xand x+1

a/q

x+x+1=63

=> 2x+1=63

=>2x=63-1

=>2x=62

=>x=62/2

therefeore x=31

therefore the 2 consecutive natural nos are 31&32 ans

soln 4.

let the man's age be x, son's age be y

a/q

x=30+y(eqn 1)

In 12 years,

son's age =12+y

man's age =12+x

also

12+x=3(12+y)

12+30+y=3(12+y)(Replacing x with eqn 1)

=>42+y=36+3y

=>42-36=3y-y

=>6=2y

=>y=3

Therefore Son's present age=3 years

Man's present age =30+3

=33 years ..ans
