surface. He is not able to push the box alone. His
friend Siddhant, after seeing Nishant helps in pushing
the box which causes it to move.
a. Why was Nishant not able to push the box alone?
b. Name the force opposing the movement
of the box.
c. What values do we learn from Siddhant?
Answers
Answer:
a.The force applied by Nishanth was not enough
b.Friction force
c. Helping nature can be observed in Siddanth
Answer:
a) When we push any object, there is a force acting opposite, called friction. When, he was trying to push it alone , the opposing force acting on the box was greater than or equal to Nishant's force acting on the box. But when , Siddhant applied some force along with Nishant , there force became larger than opposing force.
b) The force opposing the moment of box is called friction.
c) We learn that , we should help our friend or a needy person and make one's work easier.
Explanation:
- Friction is the force which opposes any tendancy for relative motion between bodies in contact.
There are two types of friction:-
- Sliding Friction : When one body slides over another, the friction that opposes this is called sliding friction.
- Rolling Friction : When a body rolls over another, the type of friction that opposes this motion is called Rolling Friction.
Friction is often regarded as "necessary evil". This is because , friction has both advantages and disadvantages. like,
Advantages:-
- It is very difficult to walk on highly smooth surface. this happens because of absence of friction.
- It helps us to stop a moving object.
Disadvantages:-
- Provides wear and tear on our shoes and tires.
- Friction on moving part of machine distorts the normal functioning.
