1. Numerical problems.
1. A musical instrument produces sound of
frequency 400 Hz. What is the time period
of vibration?
2. A wave of frequency 660 Hz has a
wavelength 0.5 m. Calculate the speed of
sound in the given mediumm
3. Two waves of frequencies 256 Hz and
288 hz respectively have the same
amplitude. What is the ratio of loudness
produced by two waves?

Answer:

1.! GIVEN, Frequency of sound wave = 400 Hz. Time period of vibration is 1/400 sec

2. wave velocity is equal to frequency*wave length

so,

660*0.5=330m/s

3.(i) LOUDNESS ∴ Amplitude of two waves is the same ∴ their loudness is the same i.e. in 1:1 (ii) PITCH: Ratio of frequencies 256 Hz: 512 Hz ∴ Ratio of their pitch =1:2Read more on Sarthaks.com - https://www.sarthaks.com/157012/waves-have-frequencies-256hz-and-512hz-but-same-amplitude-compare-their-loudness-and-pitch
