1. On a shelf there are green books and brown books. They are in the ratio 2:3. If number of green books is 18, what is the number of brown books?

2. If there are red marbles and blue marbles in a box in the ratio 7:4, find the total number of marbles.

There are 27 brown books...
Let there be x brown books
2 : 3 = 18 : x

x = 3 * 18 / 2
So x = 27

2. The total number of marbles are 11x
Where x is the common ratio.
The smallest possible no is 11 ( 7+4)
