2. there are two condition :

i) if the integer is positive then the result is in negative

Ex: 2×(-1) = (-2)

II) if the integer is negative then the result is in

positive

Ex: (-2)×(-1) = 2

or we can say if we multiply a integer by

(-1) the the result is additive inverse of the integer.
