Explanation:
- Latitude is one of the most important factor affecting climate of a place. Latitude determines a place's temperature. The locations that are at higher altitudes, far away from Equador are cooler recieve less sunlight & the places that are lower latitude is closer to the equator are warmer and receive more sunlight. Sunlight often influences rains or precipitation.⠀
- "European windstorms" are strong extra-tropical winds that create cyclones linked to "low atmospheric pressure" areas. They are most widespread throughout the year from October till March and with "peak intensity" in the winter months.
- Owing to its elevation, the Deccan plateau in Summer is comparatively cooler than the northern plains. Altitude plays a significant role in the summer because of which the plateau & hills are comparatively cooler.
- The national park of Kaziranga is an important wildlife sanctuary on the river Brahmaputra. In between rocky landscapes, big thickets, & dry deciduous forest you can watch a wide range of birds and animals in their natural habitat. Rhinos are the major attraction in the park
- A mangrove is a small tree or shrub which grows in brackish water or coastal saline. Sometimes called tidal forests are Mangrove forests, tend to be formed by tides. Such forests comprise vegetation that is extremely salt tolerant.
- Alluvial soil can be categorised into 2 groups on the age basis:- "the khaddar" & "the bhangar." Khaddar in color & is composed of newer deposits. Bhangar is old alluvium and is made up of kanker & lime nodule and has a clayey composition
- Mountain soils are "heterogeneous" in nature, & their character changes with mountainous environs & altitude. The soils are rich in humus, however are deficient in phosphorus, lime, & potash. The soils are particularly suitable for plantation of coffee, tea, tropical fruits & spices. The soil is "loamy" & "silty" in valley sides & "coarse grained" in the upper slope. Throughout the snow-covered areas, it is acidic with poor humus content. In the bottom of the valleys it is fertile
- Terrace farming is a method of farming which comprise different "steps" or terraces on "mountain slopes". The benefit is that the rain does not completely wash out nutrients, but is forced down to the lower level; thus preventing soil erosion
- The Bengal Tiger is both India & Bangladesh 's national animal. Owing to poaching & conflict between humans, the number of tigers has fallen dramatically in the last many years. The Blackbuck is an ungulated and almost extinct antelope population. Overgrazing, predation, poaching, habitat destruction, inbreeding, & sanctuary visitors pose the biggest threat to this species.
- The color of a red soil is primarily due to ferric oxides that are present in soils as thin coatings whereas the iron oxide comes as hydrous ferric oxide or haematite, the colour is red & the soil becomes yellow when hydrated when limonite is present
